Osman is a self-taught Malaysian artist working primarily in acrylic, blending abstraction and expressionism in a distinctive style he calls Charismatic Abstract. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, his practice brings together strategic structure and intuitive expression, resulting in works that balance technical discipline with emotional depth.
His artistic direction was shaped early on by the belief that a painting must not only be beautiful, but captivating. After returning to his practice in 2025 following a decade-long hiatus, Osman’s renewed body of work explores depth and movement through layered glazing, dynamic lines, and occasional impasto. His paintings invite reflection on gratitude, growth, and meaningful human connection.

This is the third piece in my Threads of Time series, where I explore the nature of time.
This piece explores how the present becomes the past. I invite viewers to consider: As a selected future becomes a new present, the old present becomes the past. Thus, the past is a string of previous presents, fixed and unchangeable. Which confirms that our intentions and actions in the present are precious.

This piece is part of my Threads of Time series. I am exploring the nature of time: How we move through it, whether the idea of time travel is valid, can paradoxes exist.
This piece explores the idea that a seemingly infinite number of possible futures already exist. Each possible future at a certain time branches out to more possible futures. Moving backwards in time, as we approach the present, futures that were once possible will cease to exist. Finally, only one possibility remains and that possibility is what becomes the present.
Thus, from a single present, the future branches out exponentially and I depict it here in its splendour.

We used to play with them when we were little. These plastic little green soldier figures. Some of them were holding a rifle, shooting, throwing a grenade, or looking through a pair of binoculars, or standing, sitting or crawling.
Playing them required imagination. We had to imagine a battlefield and arrange the soldiers accordingly. We had to come up with a story - usually impromptu - of how the battle progresses and move the soldiers while making sounds of gunshots and explosions.
This painting is something to take us back to those days.

This is the second piece in my Threads of Time series, where I explore the nature of time.
This piece explores the idea that it is the future that becomes the present, instead of the present becoming the future. Each moment of the future begin as having seemingly endless possibilities that continuously becomes less, until finally only one remains. These moments of only a single possibility continuously shape the present moment, giving the illusion that we are moving along a timeline.
Here, I captured how the present becomes the single future moment, reminding us that the selected future depends on our collective actions along with a touch of divine will.
